This is my second attempt at Term 3. Please disregard the first post as, after discussion, things changed. Please refer to your Public Speaking sheet that went home at the end of Term 2 for further information on the Public Speaking competition.

1G will welcome Miss Cook for the term. She is a student teacher who will be working with us throughout the term. Please make her feel welcome and part of our school community. She will be a most valuable member of the staff for the term and will be valuable in supporting 1G class programs.

1G and 1P have decided to do Developmental Activities on a Friday. We are looking at organising activities that will allow the students to either develop skills that they need assistance with and also allow for extension activities. Parent assistance is appreciated. It will be on the time other than the assembly. Therefore it will rotate between before and after lunch depending on the week and time of assembly.

Stay tuned this term for the new linked blog to your students written work. I am hoping to also have a voice thread so that your children will actually read their work on line. They will not have their names on the site so you will need to ask them what there ‘authors name’ is. This is to protect their anonymity.

Keep posted to this site as I hope to keep it updated with lots of links to games and a student blog!

I look forward to meeting you for parent interviews and will be happy to work with you throughout this time.

Thank you to the parents who have been very busy working in the classroom. It has been terrific to get the help with both groups and with resources. We are looking at addition and subtraction over the next couple of weeks and are moving on from length to area. Next term, I will be running a Maths teaching for parents course over several weeks. Keep your eyes posted here and through upcoming newsletters to find out more.

I would appreciated some more helpers in the room. If you are available at anytime, I love having you there, as do the children!

Keep on reading to and with your kids. I anticipate that the new home reading system will be underway soon, and we can start to send home books to develop reading fluency.
